New selection of tools and wadding now in stock!

We have been increasing our range of tools and waddings this month, to include some brand new products as well as some perennial favourites! New in the wadding section is the Sew Simple heat resistant wadding - great for projects such as pot holders and oven gloves, where heat will be an issue - and also the new Heat Press batting together, a wadding seam tape that can be used to join two pieces of wadding without extra bulk or sewing.

Also new in, we have the Microstitch basting gun. This tool is extremely popular with quilters as it makes basting the layers of a quilt much quicker, with tiny tacks (the smallest on the market) that can be sewn over and easily removed. The basting gun comes with 2280 tacks in black and white, and we also have spare tacks available separately.

The Clover Mini Iron II is another favourite with quilters, the small ironing tip ideal for working with bias tape and applique, and its new and improved design with interchangeable tips making it perfect for all kinds of craft applications. Keep it safe on the move with the Mini Iron II tote bag, specially designed to house the iron and spare tips safely!

We also have quite a few other new tools added to the website - including quilter's gloves, a point turner and seam creaser, finger guard, applique mat, a quarter square triangle ruler and half square triangle ruler, and a tomato pincushion - and we have extended our range of quilting stencils with a further ten designs, with two Christmas stencils included in time for the festive season!

New Blank Quilting metallic fabrics in stock!

Add a touch of luxury to your quilt with fabrics from our two new ranges from Blank Quilting - the Spirals patchwork fabric range or the Honeystone Hill fabric range. In gorgeous rich colours, both ranges have designs (spirals or leaves) picked out in metallic gold or silver, giving an overall effect similar to Japanese kimono fabrics. All fabrics are 100% cotton, and the quality can be felt clearly!

Freezer paper templates and Dogwood Trail Moda bundles now in!

If you enjoy English paper piecing with hexagons, but hate the tedium of cutting out and pinning the paper hexagons, we have a new product that would be ideal - packs of die cut hexagons cut from freezer paper, in two different sizes. With 2 inch and 3 inch freezer paper hexagons available, you can just iron on to the fabric (shiny side down), and they will stick for you to cut out and tack around, then will peel off easily when you've finished! Brilliant as a time saver, and to ensure you get accurate hexagons.

Also new in this week we have the Moda Dogwood Trail jelly roll and layer cake. Gorgeous floral prints in pink, green and blue designed to celebrate the Dogwood Trail tradition - a vast 12 mile tour show casing the flowering Dogwood trees, beautifully illuminated.

Uploaded to the website today we have the Moda Fa La La La La jelly roll and Fa La La La La layer cake (try saying that 5 times quickly!). This holiday collection from French General is filled with classic reds and grays with a touch of the old world green. Hand written letters with the lyrics to the classic French song, Fa La La La La, is the theme and gives this collection a particularly festive look. Rural French florals and branches make this group perfect for a warm winter quilt or stocking or two. Joyeux Noël!
